2026 CMAT Announcement

2026 CMAT Announcement

We started the 2024/25 season with 30 races on the national calendar, however, all races in Ontario and Nova Scotia were cancelled so World Cup Points (WCP) were awarded across 22 races. For the first time, we included three FIS Masters Cup (FMC) events at Garceau QC in WCP.

In September 2024, the Governance document was updated; the sections that relate to WCP and Canadian Masters Alpine Team (CMAT) criteria are as follows:

  • Any race or event on the National Calendar must have a minimum of 20 Masters registered to have full WCP awarded.
  • If less than 20 Masters are registered for an event, half points will be awarded to the 10-19 Masters registered and one point awarded for the 1-9 Masters registered.
  • Double points will be awarded for CMAC.

From 2025 onwards, the following criterion have been removed:

  • Starts in a minimum of two different regions listed on the Masters’ national calendar, for the current season.
  • Five FIS starts in two different countries outside of Canada.

These criterions are designed to promote:

  • Participation nation wide as well as increased participation at CMAC.
  • Performance once these criteria have been met.

Racers who strive to obtain a spot on the CMAT do so for their own individual and personal reasons. However, each member of the CMAT is to be commended on their participation and results, having met the criteria and excelling.

Congratulations to the following Masters who met the CMAT criteria and had the top points within their age categories in the East or the West:
