Master’s Competitor Card:
A reminder to register online at Alpine Ontario Registration for the upcoming season by selecting the Master’s National Card (select the ‘AOA 2018/19 Season Registration Masters’ program) or the Master’s FIS Card (select the ‘AOA 2018/19 Season Registration (FIS)’ program).The Master’s National Card is the best option if you intend racing in more than one event – refer to Alpine Ontario Fees for the fee schedule and reasons for paying ACA, AOA and division fees. A Master’s competitor card is required for sanctioned events only e.g. Ontario/Eastern/National Championships.
Note: If the card is purchased during December or prior, then every Friday your card is activated by AOA, but from January onwards it is activated on demand; check for activation on the new website Alpine Points

The Ottawa Masters’ Ski Racing Club holds races every Wednesday night from early January through to March with the finals in Mont Cascades, QC, on 16 March 2019; for more information go to Ottawa Masters

Note:
The finals are on the 2019 Masters’ Calendar for the first time and therefore World Cup Points are awarded towards CMAT qualification.

AOA Masters’ GS Camp – Tuesday, 05 February 2019:
Join AOA and some of the best coaches, including Ontario Ski Team Head Coach, Kip Harrington, at Georgian Peaks for an AOA Masters’ Camp from 12:30-2:30pm. Train on Rogers being the only FIS homologated GS run in Ontario. This is a unique opportunity to ski Georgian Peaks on a closed day, reserved for AOA use only, with some of the best coaches in the province. Cost is $70 including HST lift ticket and coaching; Non-AOA members will be charged $75 and must sign a waiver. Login and register at GS Camp Registration Note: The fourth and last race of the Interclub series is on 9 February 2019 at Georgian Peaks so take advantage of this training camp!

Masters’ Training Camps:
Six weeks of slalom training is offered by Fenninger Racing on Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings, from 08/09 January to 12/13 February, at Earl Bales Ski Centre. For more information, go to http://www.fenningerracing.com

Helmets:
Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA) released their 2018-19 National Competition Rules document Competition Rules that clearly states, in section 222, that for Masters’ national competition events that are ACA sanctioned, « FIS conformed helmets (label « RH2013″) MUST be used for GS/SG/DH events, no exception. » Helmets that meet these requirements contain the non-removable label (under the top gel coat) reading « Conform to FIS Specifications RH 2013 ».
Note: This helmet requirement does not apply to non-ACA sanctioned GS/SG/DH
events.

Unfortunately I will not be skiing this season after suffering a really bad bicycle accident in July 2018, but I will try to be at most events for support, results and WC points.
